As I have been mentioning recently, We need to have a policy here for discussing things that are mere opinion and those that have some sort of evidence behind them. This is especially true of articles posted by hairsite, because they tend to take on an "official" air and are looked upon by me and others as fact. I'm not saying that Hairsite is deliberately distorting the line between proven and unproven, but for all those who are not paying close attention, there needs to be a consisten policy to divide fact and conjecture/boast/editorial.
Case in point: In article 208, 'BioAmide Reporting Preliminary Results on Dermal Papilla Cloning ' at http://www.hairsite2.com/library/article208.htm The ariticle discusses the recent dissapointing results of BioAmide research, which was sent in by a reader. While the article is identified as being sent in by someone unnamed, the article does sound very formal and convincing. This is fine, except for the fact at the end of the article, the following boast is made:
"It appears Gho is light years ahead of his competition"
To a casual reader, this seems to imply that, in fact, Dr. Gho is at an advanced stage of research in HM. There is no evidence that this is the case. WE have not seen any results of Gho's HM procedure. What the person who sent the article in did was add an editorial comment at the end. Printing this at the end of an official sounding release might lead people (like ME!) to believe that there is some proof behind that statement, which apperently there is not.
The point is that editorial, or unproven statements need to be identified boldly as such or edited out.
