I've followed this board for 2 years, so this is my 1st post...just curious about Gho's removal technique, and if it could be applied to the scar tissue areas from old strip excisions. Since the donor areas shrink, leaving no visible scars/marks, could areas of old strip scars be excised in the same manner to eliminate or shrink/reduce the scar? This would probably take multiple procedures, but in theory it seems like it should work.
How is Gho's new technique different from NHI's FUE procedure? I suffered 3 low-ball sessions in 1993 at Elliot-Thomas in St. Louis, which left me with 3 scars that had been cored out of the back of my head. I had 2 procedures from Dr. Rassman at New Hair Institute in 1995 to correct the larger E-T grafts (yes, they are still visible). I was pleased with the quality of Dr. Rassman's work, and am contemplating going back to have the larger E-T grafts removed/re-distributed once and for all. However, I do not want anymore strip excisions done. It will only be in the manner that Gho seems to be doing it.
I have not seen much critique of NHI on this board. What is the general consensus about them from you guys? Their web address is http://www.newhair.com/. I would be curious to hear opinions from you guys.
As a veteran of 5 varying quality HT's, I would have to say that Gho's pics look typical of today's HT's. Yes, the recipient areas look a bit larger than the slits I underwent at NHI, but hey, you are still cutting flesh whatever way you look at it. The 2-4 week recovery is the trade off for the hair you will grow, so how bad do you want it? It ain't gonna be pretty...
