I understand most of what you've said about TE/CT being the most realistic treatment for things like hair loss among other things for people in this generation. And for me, GT might as well be science fiction as far as my understanding of basic biology allows me to know. But what do you make of Elaine Fuchs commenting that (~)"enough should be known about hair cycling and the intercellular messaging and processes within five years to come up with an effective treatment". She also said that last year. She said more recently that she and her gorup are studying the Wingless pathway (i think) in fruit flies which is responsible for wing appendages. She said the same pathway is involved in human hair growth. I mean, I vaguely understand that mice, which is the extent of her new follicle creation experiments that created super furry mice and also benign tumor ball growth subdermally, do not have the same physiology as what people do. Fuchs also said that creating new follicles is easy, and that turning off that pathway is what they are trying to understand now in order to prevent the benign tumor growths. It just seems to me that they are perhaps half way there already, but yes, I understand that if it were that easy then the secondary and so forth effects on the rest of the bodies cells would be known and deemed safe. I guess we should also understand that GT has suffered a set back a few years ago with a teenagers death in I thnk what was already a life threatening illness that involved human trials for GT. But now they have promising lab results for a sickle cell anemia cure and an already cure for a severe immune compromising disease that has been a killer of infants with successful human trials in four young children in the USA. And I suppose this looks good for future generations, but I think the FDA is also looking at expediting drug approval procedures in the US, as per some recent news items recently. I agree that CT/TE looks like hairloss' best hopes in the near future, but from what I've read, the future will be changed dramatically by genetic engineering as well as TE, albeit in the years ahead of us all.
