1) There are celebrities, the powerful , the wealthy who have access to HM in clandestine ops unavailable to the masses. Bullshit plain and simple. If there were some secretive underground railroad of HM we would not see balding celebs, real estate tycoons and CEO's, but we do. Bad enough that young guys in their teens and twenties have the malady of hair loss, but to intimate that they are being discriminated against by the landed gentry makes their suffering all the more acute. This must end. 1) My great uncle G, in the 1960's, was able to push his way past others needing a heart operation if he simply had the $10K for an operation. He had several ops, and he wasn't wealthy, just had a little more money than most was all. That was in a Chicago hospital.
"2) Gho is withholding HM to prevent his competitve enemies any chance of usurping his clear lead. Dog shit. How in the f*** would posting the results of his trials supply any help other than scare the crap out of Bazan, Washenik, Rassman etc. He would not haver reveal how he arrived at the results, just tell the world his progress in terms of density, success rates et al. This all he would have to reveal example: in a clinical trial of hair multiplication, using 100 tests subjects 33% did not have significant regrowth, 33% had moderate regrowth and 33% had excellent regrowth. 1% became the wolfman. The materials and methods for this trial shall remain proprietary. How would a release of info like this benefit the competition? Again the desperate hairless ones see conspiracy when none exists and make dumb ass decisions. I don't want that." 2) I don't know, however, I think that there must be several doctors in the Netherlands, perhaps Hamburg and even the USA that do know or are in the process of evaluating HM's efficacy. Just speculation, but I think that test results will eventually be known. Perhaps even made available to hairsite, eventually. I think we'll see clinics opening and colour photos while clinical data will be ignored for more visual evidence of HM.
"3) the time table for HM is now 1.75 years. Really? Hm for the masses in that short of time, affordable, full density with teenage straight hair lines? Not bloody likely. A form of HM may be released but in what form and fashion? Young men, don't plan your life around this assumption. Get out, live, do what it takes to fulfill your life in its present form and if HM arrives rejoice but don't f***ing count on it." 3) I don't know of anyone here who is recommending that they put their life on hold in lieu of a breakthrough in HM. I do know that hair transplant sales are extremely lucrative and people are being misled a great deal about unrealistic results regarding that method of hair restoration. I think that there is no harm in trumping the butchers even before it's time for HM. No qualms whatsoever. As far as teenage hairlines are concerned, hair transplants will never achieve this alone, but perhaps supplementing with HM it might be possible.
"4) HM will be affordable. Another potential pile of horseshit. Who knows? I think not that it will be quite expensive so plan accordingly. Guys bitch about the cost of propecia, about $60 a month. Believe me HM will be a hell of a lot more than that. Be ready, $10K, 15K, 25K, be prepared boy scouts. You heard it here first. Don't act surprised when you get the bill." 4) I don't know, but Walter Unger said that a cell therapy for hairloss should be cheaper than conventional hair transplants which can pick a Norwood 7's pockets of $25K, easily. In the long run, it'll be more several times more cost effective and just plain more effective than both rogaine and propecia/DuShaftUsAside-DeVolve. And I believe Dr. Gho has mentioned affordability with regard to HM.
"5) this is a little speculative but does anyone think that there are test subjects out there who wouldn't betray a signed non disclosure contract? Look I have been a party to several NDS and ..." 5) I don't know. What about corrective lens surgery when it was being performed in Cuba before it was new and improved here with lasers. How long before that was it being done in Russia before the Cubans had ever known of it.
What I do know is that Walter Unger and his colleagues at the U of T have launched an investigation of cell therapy for hair loss after initial lab experiments proved successful. A Dr. Vogel in the USA has said that his initial experiments failed completely but won't release his data showing whatit was that failed him. Aderans-Bosley-Washenik-BioAmide have created a new R&D branch of that company to develop a therapy for hair loss. Carl Bazan could be on to something if his newly minted, billionaire countrymen would put some pesos behind him instead of carting off suit cases of money to foreign banks. They likely will if it becomes obvious later that Bazan has a guaranteed sure thing. And Dr. Gho, working on HM since the mid 1990's, has stated to us clearly that HM is real, and that everyone would have their fair chance in accessing it. You can easily understand our enthusiasm over the possibility of an effective treatment for hairloss.
