Here are my answers to your points, Alpine. WB also did a great job responding to each one.

1) There are celebrities, the powerful , the wealthy who have access to HM in clandestine ops unavailable to the masses. Bullshit plain and simple. If there were some secretive underground railroad of HM we would not see balding celebs, real estate tycoons and CEO's, but we do. Bad enough that young guys in their teens and twenties have the malady of hair loss, but to intimate that they are being discriminated against by the landed gentry makes their suffering all the more acute. This must end.

My answer: There is no "secretive underground railroad of HM", but in general, celebrities, the wealthy and the powerful DO, I repeat *DO* have access to a lot of things (including medical services and treatments) that are not readily to the general public. To imply otherwise means you are either extraordinarily naive, or you're deliberately bullshitting and deceiving people. No, I have no knowledge of specific instances where celebrities have received HM, but I have no doubts that when it does become available (if it hasn't already become available to select patients), celebrities and the mega-wealthy will have the quickest, easiest access to it during the initial period, when availability is scarce. Alpine, you seem to have a vested interest, an ulterior motive in promoting the totally wrongheaded and naive notion that we have a perfect democracy in this country, where everyone has equal access to things like health care, luxuries, scarce goods and services, etc. I will say this one more time: You have an ulterior motive which is, in part, political, because you don't want people to know the TRUTH, and that is that America is a land where the rich have access to many things that the average citizen cannot get. We DO NOT live in an egalitarian land, and that INCLUDES ALL ASPECTS OF HEALTH CARE. Stop bullshitting people. I want people to know the truth, you are promoting a fairy-tale distortion for your own narrow purposes!

2) Gho is withholding HM to prevent his competitve enemies any chance of usurping his clear lead. Dog shit. How in the f*** would posting the results of his trials supply any help other than scare the crap out of Bazan, Washenik, Rassman etc. He would not haver reveal how he arrived at the results,

Ever heard of "reverse-engineering"? No? Then look it up. Posting almost ANY information about the results of trials, even saying whether you have evidence as to how a procedure works (i.e., follicular neogenesis vs. stimulation of dormant follicles) can be a MAJOR help to competitors. It gives them a place to start, to narrow down the focus of their research. Also, my main point wasn't that Gho is afraid of tipping off EXISTING competitors. He already knows Unger, Bosley/BioAmide, etc. exist. He can't do anything about them. The most he can hope for is that they work slowly, or that they have lots of distractions or money problems. What Gho is most concerned about (and this REALLY concerns him, as it does ALL of the players in the field) is potential ***NEW*** people getting into the race. Potential new, brilliant people who might have never thought of pursuing HM, but who might get tempted to do it, and MOVE VERY FAST, once they see it's feasible or that someone's made progress with it. I mean anyone from well-funded teams of dermatologists in the US (the US is Gho's biggest fear because he knows that the biggest talent pool in medicine is here, although the WILL to pursue cell therapy for hairloss hasn't existed in the US because medical hair restoration has been almost completely coopted by a powerful vested interest -- the HT industry.) Gho's (and Unger's, and all of the researchers') biggest fear is that if they disclose too much about their work, the CONCEPT will eventually collide with THE one person who will discover the "silver bullet" that will make it work best and fastest. They don't KNOW this will happen, but strategically, they have no choice but to focus their fears on just this possibility. This possibility exists, and is the one possibility that would be almost sure of robbing them of their market share. Therefore the laws of logic and business strategy -- something you obviously no nothing about -- dictate they must see this eventuality as the biggest potential danger. All they have to do to minimize this potentiality is to say nothing, or very little, about the scientific nature of their work or results. Since it costs them nothing to adopt this strategy, but this strategy could save them huge potential headaches in the future, they have no choice (logically) but to adopt this strategy, since the stakes are so high.
