My Personal Topical Experiment.

Seven weeks ago, i started a personal topical DHT inhibition experiment, based on my theory of the DHT `trigger' in MPB described at http://www.biohydraulic.co.uk

Basicaly, the suggestion is that the effect of DHT in the face and neck that creates beard growth, also creates adverse conditions in the scalp that can create MPB. According to this theory, reducing the production of DHT in the face and neck should allow the natural developement of larger anagen follicles in the MPB area. According to the theory, reducing the production of DHT in the face and neck, would in fact be the most effective way to reverse the MPB proccess?

In an attempt to "put my money where my mouth is ", i decided to run this personal experiment.

The topical Crinagen is claimed to reduce local levels of DHT by up to 98%? For the last 7 weeks i have been applying 5 `Squirts' of Crinagen to my face and neck, like an aftershave, twice a day.

I am now 50, and my bald area at the crown and temples has been consistent for the last 15 years. I have always had vellous growth in the crown area. Two years ago i tried topical 5% Minoxidil for a period of 6 months. This increased the vellous growth slightly in the crown area, but only slightly and there was no change from about 4 to 6 months, so i gave it up. I probably have some follicle fibrosis, so i am not really a good candidate for this kind of experiment.

However, i can say that my 7 week response to my Crinagen `facial' experiment is already showing better results than my 6 month use of 5% Minoxidil on the scalp. The first thing i noticed was my scalp felt warmer! Perhaps an increase in circulation efficiency as predicted by the theory? The vellous hair growth is increasing and hair growth is thickening and moving upwards at the reccession points at the sides. The vellous growth is also noticable further forwards than it was using 5% Minoxidil.

I must emphasize that this is a personal experiment, and if it continues to show good results after 6 months, i will argue for a proper scientific trial to be performed.

I am not using any Crinagen on my scalp as i want to keep this experiment `pure' to the theory. But i am curious about something?

According to the theory, the best possible reponse to the facial inhibition of DHT production, would be in younger men who are starting with MPB. If there are people out there who already have an idea of their personal response to Crinigen or similar topical 5ARi applied to the scalp, i have a suggestion.

Try using some on the face and neck as well! According to my theory this should magnify your response to this type of topical treatment? I would be interested in any feedback from people who may want to try this.

I will continue to report my own progress with this experiment.
