Hey Mane-iac. I don't know any more than the average schmoe about how to acquire drugs cheaper, except that we physicians are usually granted a 10-20% discount, so clearly there is some wiggle room on the price. In today's age of price competiton, however, I suspect that there is not the huge (ie 100%) markup that private pharmacists used to enjoy.
No, I don't think the price will drop if the drug becomes more in demand.
We need to hear from those here who said they knew, or were related to, a pharmacist. I supect the only strategy that might prove effective would be if everyone here vowed to buy it from the same pharmacy. Maybe get at least a dozen guys to approach a private pharmacist (most the pharmacists today obviously work for a store chain and have less leeway to offer deals).
